Syed Badrul Ahsan is an independent journalist and commentator on politics and
diplomacy. For four decades-plus, he has been associated with a number of
English language newspapers in Bangladesh. He has contributed columns to
Dhaka Tribune, The Financial Express, The Business Standard, bdnews24.com
and has written for the Observer Research Foundation (Delhi), The Open
Magazine (Delhi) and North-East News (Guwahati).
He reviews books for Asian Affairs, the Journal of the Royal Society for Asian
Affairs (RSAA) in London. A Senior Fellow at the Institute of Commonwealth
Studies (ICwS) in London, he is a member of the Commonwealth Journalists
Association (CJA) and Deputy Editor of The Round Table: The Commonwealth
Journal of International Affairs. He has authored, among other works, biographies
of Bangladesh’s founder Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and its wartime
prime minister Tajuddin Ahmad.
