The Mountain
I am quiet, somber
Rock solid and hard,
As smooth as chiseled
Alabaster.
I look straight up
The carefree and limitless sky,
Unmoved, spellbound.
I am a crushing mass of
Stone, a rugged surface
Untrammeled, unperturbed.
An ancient myth, the cosmic
Testimony to the world.
Humbled and soothed,
As your brown waters flow,
Cascading through my being.
The icy cooling caresses perpetuate-
The burns and fatigue I bear
For ages!
I stay firmly grounded-
Rooted solid with the massive
Weight of the World, Yet
I embrace your bouncing
Rippling falls as you pass by,
And rush stampeding down
My throat and bosom
Like a swaggering peacock
Before a crowd of onlookers!
I hear you cheer and charioted-
Deep down the dreams of
The kiss of the sea.
The Spring
I am gorgeous,
A beauteous feast of –
The eyes of the universe!
As meandering and intoxicating
As the serpentine sea.
Fast and furious
I pace downward with an
Unbridled ecstasy!
I pass through thy rugged walls
And rush to the sea.
Oh! Feel Conceited,
The dancing snow-crested-
Mass of deluge, breasted in
Multiple layers of the rainbow,
Transparent acrylic of the mirror,
Thy bare-brown-blades,
Blocking my sweeping uproar!
I hop and scorn, I drop and horn
Unconcerned-
I breathe fast, with rhythms past
I sprightly sing and overflow
The empty world with
Unpremeditated tunes.
A free youthful being,
I sing the song of spring!
I am pregnant with red and green
Blue and bright,
With a splendid roll of
Dance and flight!
The rubric of my art defies-
Thy rooted and rugged
Surface- thou static and dead!
I steer and run clear my way and turn
To the vast chasms of the
Sea, I renew and reverberate
Reborn and regenerate!
I am red and bright
Not grey and light!
I am fast not fixed,
I run in the sun and night and moon,
And see all marvel and fall in a swoon!
