Othello and Desdemona

The Rose smiled, so smiled the buds, the petals

In blood, full of dewy inertia, with blushful bubbles,

With the charms of Psyche’s oracle blessed,

Enshrouded in the hooded veil of mist of the

Soft sprightly spring, so gaudily dressed!

The long grim howling, followed a storm,

Blasted the petals of the rose in the

Cruel winter night…… to crown the deadly plight,

Tears rolled down the cheeks of the rose,

Lost her sprightly dance and subtle airy pose!

Withered, worn-out never her girdle grows

Or flutter out when his windy tune flows,

So was the fate of the red red rose!

Cupid’s golden grasshopper came torment- tossed-

Lost its airy wings, in the sharp thorns of the rose

Blood-bathed, twisted, fell on the

Dead, red rose petal bed!
