You remained concealed in my heart, my dear-
I couldn’t even see you! Couldn’t notice you!
I kept my eyes wide open outdoors, but
Didn’t peep into the core of my heart inward.
Amid the moments of my love, pains and hopes,
You were always closer to me,
But I didn’t make my way to you.
In my pastime, you were with me, a constant joy-
And in excess of jubilation I stood forgetful and idled away my time.
Deep in my heart, I remain engrossed,
You have imparted melodies to the songs-
Of my tears and smiles, but
I didn’t chant those songs of yours!
